Q: Is this Event ADA accessible?
A: No, Because the USS Salem is a 1940s era naval ship, the ship is NOT in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Access to the ship will be limited to visitors who can safely walk aboard the ship unassisted (wheelchairs, walkers, strollers, etc. will not be allowed on board). We apologize for any inconvenience.
Q: Is there anything I should know about safety?
A: Yes, below are a few things to keep in mind in regards to this;
1.) This is an old ship, there are objects all around. Please walk through slowly and safely.
2.) As with most haunted house attractions, this attraction uses strobe lights, fog, pitch darkness, strong smells, tight spaces, intense audio, lighting and other special effects. This attraction is not recommended for children under 12 and the easily offended. Women who are pregnant and individuals who suffer from heart conditions, high blood pressure, asthma, seizures, light sensitivity, claustrophobia, or any other health condition that could be aggravated by these special effects should consider this warning prior to entry. This attraction entails known and unanticipated risks that could result in physical or emotional injury. Risks may include, among other things, slipping, falling, collision with fixed objects or other participants, bruises, twists, sprains, breaks, seizures and or death. Redemption of this voucher is considered acknowledgment of these warnings, as well as, the assumption of any and all risks associated with entering this attraction. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK
Q: Can I bring a Purse, Backpack, or Tote into your event?
A: You can only bring small wristlets or cross body bags that do not exceed 8 by 5 by 2 inches.
Q: I have a child that I would like to take, what are your rules?
A: This event is not appropriate for children under the age of 12 and children 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 21.
Q: Is this event going to continue if it is raining?
A: It depends on how bad. We will make a determination on whether or not we are going to open by 4:30 the day of the event. Check Social Media channels and the website for updated info.
Q: Are the lines long?
A: On certain nights like Fridays and Saturdays the lines and wait time can be long. If you don't like lines you can upgrade to a VIP Fast pass or Paranormal VIP Experience or attend on a Thursday or Sunday when lines are shorter.
Q: Is this event indoors or outdoors?
A: This is an outdoor event.
Q: What is Ghost Ship Harbor?
A: Ghost Ship Harbor is a Haunted House attraction taking place on the dock of the USS Salem and all over the ship. We will have live actors, props, food, music, and an all around Fall feel to this haunted house destination attraction. Our goal is to make you feel like you've stepped into an alternate universe where you will be totally immersed in a fun and entertaining environment. The backdrop of a 1940's 716 foot battleship makes it unique and something New Englander's have never experienced before.
Q: Is there parking?
A: Yes, we have parking on site and within walking distance depending on how many people are there. There is a $5 fee to park.
Q: Are there alternative ways to get here?
A: Take the T into Quincy center and hop on the bus 220, 221, or 222 to the South street stop and walk to 549 South street, go behind the building and walk all the way to the water to the ship. The subway fare booth will make change.
Q: How do I book a Paranormal VIP Experience?
A: All of the Paranormal VIP Experiences run every half hour on the hour. You will need to pick a time slot and book your ticket based on the time you want to go. Some times may not be available due to high demand. You should always book early and online. If you have a Groupon deal or Living Social deal please book your time slot by emailing us at [email protected], your name, number of tickets you bought, what night, what time you'd like to go, and age. The VIP Paranormal experience will be entertaining and will give attendees the opportunity to discover real paranormal activity.
Q: The ticket says 7:00 pm, do I have to arrive then?
A: NO, if you have a general admission ticket of VIP Fast Pass you can arrive anytime after 7:00pm but we suggest you arrive an hour before we close. If you have a paranormal ticket we ask that you arrive a half an hour earlier than the time on your ticket.
